Authentic Homemade Peanut Sauce

This authentic homemade peanut sauce gets its robust and fresh taste from whole peanuts. If you’re looking for a flavorful peanut sauce, this is the real deal.

Like freshly ground spices, freshly ground peanuts taste more robust. Pre-ground spices lose their magic quickly; their flavors and aromas fade, and their oils degrade when exposed to air, light, and heat. The same is true for peanuts.

This sauce is ideal paired with Asian, Indonesian, and Balisian satays and shish kabobs.

  • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts unsalted
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil dark
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice more to taste
  • teaspoon cayenne
  • ½ cup coconut milk


  • Combine all ingredients and mix well. Refrigerate unused portion.
